Wildfire: Wave of flame by 2xreavis Wildfire: Wave of flame by 2xreavis
We drove up to the Gunbarrel fire near Cody, WY to get video footage for our local tv channel, and this was a nice picture that we were able to capture. This was taken at around 2 AM.

Photo 1 of a series :)

I was wondering if I could use this as well... any of your fire photos would be great, so just let me know!

I live in California where we have annual issues with wildfires. And the devastation is horrible but there's something hypnotic and beautiful about it, especially at night. Your photo really captures this.

Thanks! Yeah, I totally agree with you. A few nights later, it came down to the road and there was a glowing flow of embers up a cliff wall that lit up the whole place.. it was pretty magical. It was one of the weirdest and coolest things I have ever seen. Hypnotic is a great descriptor!

I actually live near Sheridan, so not too far away from this.
There is a smokey haze in the air here.

Cool :)! I wonder if that's because of the gunbarrel fire or the one near red lodge. Today hasn't been quite as smoky because of the lack of wind.
